November, can you believe it is already here?
Next month is December, already! Wow!! Somehow it seems like we were in December not that long ago!! Does each year, fly by faster and faster? It sure seems to for me! Do you find that too?
Well November is sort of one of those ‘ in-between months’ it seems. The bright colors of fall have pretty much fallen, or been blown away by winds and rains. There can be a beauty in the first frosts and and the first snowfall, making us look forward to the month of December and Christmas and winter sports. It can also be a rather dreary month as the trees and branches look dull, and the grass isn’t as green, the flowers, plants and even the weeds have finished their blooming and are turning soft shades of beige.
Some of the blogs I hope to touch on this month are:
the color of grey: Thanks to a challenge from my bro!!
A shoe tree: I took an ‘artist date’ – photography morning and did a photo shoot of a shoe tree near Paris, Ontario:
I will begin a tutorial on: art journal pages. A journal is a great thing to have on a dull November day, to write down thoughts, feelings, notes and maybe lists. But why not jazz it up a bit with some color and other ideas. This month you will find the first tutorial and there will be more to come month by month.
Mushrooms have been sprouting up here there and everywhere, well before the frost hit that is, and I was able to get some fun photos, so I decided to do a blog just about them!
And I know some of you are wondering where I do my art work. I don’t really have a ‘studio’ at the moment, but I create from a space in the dining room, and so I’d like to do a blog called “where I create?‘ to show my ‘creative space’ and how I make it work for me!
I will also do a blog showing the preliminary progress I am making on three new paintings. It will show how I go through the creating process and I hope to do more blogs as these paintings come along so that you can ‘see’ a bit more of the whole process from start to finish.
And of course, I will try to do my follow up frost blog from my way fun ‘first major frost’ photo shoot! http://graciawassink.com/blog/oh-oh-oh-frost/ This one will show the beauty of the sunflowers as they were covered in the dusting of frost!
So hopefully throughout the month of November you get the odd moment to sit with a coffee, tea or maybe a hot chocolate and just enjoy some of these blogs. Try your hand at journaling, or put on some warm, cozy clothes and go for a nice ‘fresh air’ walk to check out the first frost and the changing of the seasons! Enjoy!
